INTAN JAYA - A meaningful display of unity and mutual trust unfolded in Yokatapa Village, Sugapa District, as the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad engaged in a Social Communication (Komsos) activity. Under the banner of the TNI HABEMA Operational Command, this initiative highlights the enduring commitment of TNI to fostering peace and development in Papua.
On Monday, December 16, 2024, during a routine Border Security Operation at the RI-PNG Mobile Border in Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, Satgas Yonif 509 Kostrad seized the opportunity to connect with the residents of Yokatapa. Led by Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, the task force focused on creating a harmonious dialogue while ensuring the security of the region.
The patrol team engaged in warm and constructive conversations with the villagers, exchanging updates about the region's security and overall well-being. The locals were quick to express their appreciation for the soldiers' presence, noting the sense of safety it brings to their community. One villager, Mama Fielda Kogoya, shared her heartfelt gratitude: “Thank you, Commander 509. God bless you.”
Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan emphasized the importance of initiatives like Komsos, noting their critical role in understanding and addressing the community's needs. “Our efforts are not limited to security; they extend to building relationships and supporting the aspirations of the people. This is central to our mission in Papua, ” he stated.
Brigadier General TNI Lucky Avianto, Commander of HABEMA, praised the soldiers’ approach, highlighting its impact on community-building efforts. “The Komsos initiative reflects TNI's unwavering commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue and supporting sustainable development in Papua.
